Double Slipper Clawfoot Tub

The double slipper clawfoot tub is a Victorian style bathtub with very specific features.  The detail is in the base of the tub, where you can find a unique looking set of feet that resemble that support the tub.  You can see why they call them a 'clawfoot' tub, as the stands that hold them up resemble feet.

There are a couple of different variations of a clawfoot tub. These variations surround the type of material used for the tub itself, and the type of styling of the feet.

Types of Tubs

Most of these tubs are cast iron or acrylic, although some can be found made out of copper. The acrylic and cast iron models are often cheaper, and they themselves have a non-slip acrylic or porcelain interior. The copper versions on the other hand retail for a couple thousand more, and are finished with a type of lacquer to give it a richer color as well as to protect it.

Types of Feet

There are different types of coatings available for the feet of this type of tub. The different coatings/materials include: chrome, bronze, oil rubbed bronze, satin nickel, polished nickel, brass, acrylic white, and even custom colors can be done through various dealers. The styles of feet are mostly modeled after the Lion, and most of these types of tubs use the same clawfoot design to keep a genuine Victorian look.
